What am I insured to coach?

EA Coach insurance provides cover to coaches coaching to the standards defined by the EA coaching syllabus for their level of EA Coach accreditation.

If you coach to standards above your EA Coach accreditation, you will not be covered by insurance.

Please refer to the table WHAT AM I INSURED TO COACH? at this link for more details.

How long will it take to get accredited?

The EA Courses can be completed at your own pace – there is no time frame you must meet.

The amount of time required will depend on your experience, availability of a suitable horse, access to CEs and SSTAs etc.

I have completed all my assessments. What do I do now?

Please scan or photograph copies of your completed assessment slips to the National Office via:

Email: coaching@equestrian.org.au (preferred)

Mail: PO Box 673, Sydney Markets, NSW 2129

Who can sign off my assessment slips?

Please refer to this document to check if your CE is of the right level to sign you off.

I have been out of the system for a few years. What is the process for me to get reaccredited?

Every year, the EA will release a process for coaches that have lapsed or registered as a non-practicing coach. Depending on how long you have been lapsed or non-practicing for, you will need to go through slightly different processes to get reaccredited. The process for 2022/23 lapsed coaches can be found here. All resources and forms you will require are on the EA Coach Forms and Resources page

I started getting some of my assessments signed off a while ago, are the signatures still valid or will I have to start over?

We normally accept signatures from up to 4 years ago. However, if you do have signatures older than that and can prove that you have been coaching in that time, you are likely to be allowed to continue and not have to be reassessed.

I have a PCA/HRCAV coaching certificate, will I be required to go through the same process?

The short answer is “yes”. As the systems are different, we do require everyone who would like to become an EA coach to go through a familiarisation and assessment process. That said, should you have the appropriate experience, your Coach Educator may nominate you to be fast-tracked in our system.
